CPM was held on 17thNov & 18thNov 2023 at APS MamunCantt. MrsRitambraGhai Principal APS Dagshai attended the same.

ACHIEVEMENTS & PARTICIPATION.

Command level Basketball Tournament.

The basketball school team (Boys) of Army Public School Dagshai once again demonstrated their outstanding sportsmanship and exceptional skills and brought laurels to the school by securing a resounding victory at the Command Level Basketball Tournament. Total five teams from different Corps participated in the tournament held at APS, Beas from 26thto 28thOct 2023. It was a league cum knockout tournament. In league stage our team defeated APS Pathankot by 59-39, APS Beas by 65-32, APS Kaluchak by 70-50, APSDhaulaKuan by 85-62 and topped the pool. Our team defeated APS Beas by 64-28 in semifinals and in finals defeated APS Pathankot by 62-39. The basketball school team displayed unparalleled dedication, teamwork, and a passion for the sport that culminated in a well-deserved victory in the tournament.

Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition.

The Postal Department organised a letter writing competition with the theme ‘Young people’ in partnership with the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) in support of the UN second decade of Action for Road safety. Khushmeet Saini of class IX participated in the competition where she wrote a letter describing how she as a superhero would enhance road safety and make roads a safer place for children. She won a cash reward of Rs 25000/- and will be felicitated by the Additional Director General, Shimla in an award ceremony.

IPSC Basketball Tournament (U-14 Girls).

The Basketball school team (U-14 Girls) participated in the IPSC Basketball Tournament at Yadvindra Public School, Mohali from 23rdto 26thOct 2023.

Invitational Cricket Tournament.

The U-13 Boys Cricket school team participated in the Invitational Cricket Tournament at Pinegrove School, Dharampur from 22nd Oct to 25thOct 2023.

33RD ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET

The 33rd Annual Athletic Meet was organised in the school from 01st Nov – 03rdNov 2023. The Chief Guest on the Opening Ceremony was Col. VikramjitSingh Panag, CO, 1HP Bn NCC Solan. The programme commenced with a well-coordinated MarchPast by Sports Captain, House Captains followed by thecontingents of three houses Patel, Tagore and Nehru exhibiting their grit to competein the highest spirit of games. An oath, to ensurefair play and true sportsmanship was administered by the School Sports CaptainRahul Kumar. Students participated in Aerobics and Karate and displayed exceptional team spirit, discipline and commitment.

The Closing Ceremony of 33rd Annual Athletic Meet of APS Dagshai was held on 3rd Nov 2023.Brig Preet Pal Singh, AVSM, VSM Commandant 14GTC & Chairman, Army Public School Dagshai was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Athletic meet concluded with Prize Distribution Ceremony in which the winners of the track events were felicitated by the Chief Guest.

VidyanjaliProgramme.

ArmyPublicSchoolDagshai hostedthe students of Government Middle School Dagshai as part of the Vidyanjali Project for the 33rd Annual Athletic Meet. Fourteen students of the Government Middle School took part in the 200m and 100m races, showcasing their athletic prowess. Award prizes were presented to the deserving winners, fostering a sense of achievement and sportsmanship.

CELEBRATION OF IMPORTANT DAYS:

Knowing your surroundings week.

Knowing our surroundings week was celebrated by APS Dagshai from 19th to 25th Oct 2023. The following activities were organised to mark the week. A speech was presented on the Dagshai Museum in the morning assembly and students of classes V and VI were taken to the Dagshai Museum to witness the facts and history related to the Dagshai Museum.

National Unity day.

RashtriyaEktaDiwas, National Unity Day, is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel. The day is dedicated to promoting unity and integrity among the people of India. The day was celebrated in Army Public School, Dagshai on 31stOct 2023.”Run for Unity” was organized to commemorate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary on 02ndNov 2023. The event aimed to promote unity and diversity. Participants ran together, emphasizing the importance of national harmony.

Vigilance awareness week.

Army Public School Dagshai observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th Oct to 05th Nov 2023, on the theme “Say no to Corruption, commit to the Nation.” The following events were held at the school as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week. The Vigilance week commenced with the integrity pledge taken by students and staff on 30thOctober 2023 administered by Manu Singh of Class VII-A. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class VII-A to create awareness about the ill effects of Corruption. SamairaGautam gave a speech to increase awareness about the adverse effects of corruption in the society.

National Police Commemoration Day.

National Police Commemoration Day was celebrated in the school on 21 Oct 2023. A speech was delivered in the morning assembly highlighting the contributions of the nation’s police force and paying tribute to all those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

World day for Audio Visual Heritage.

World Audiovisual Heritage was celebrated on 27 Oct 2023 to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and providing access to audiovisual materials that document our cultural, social, and historical heritage. On this occasion the display board was decorated with the theme ‘Window to the World’ and the speech was presented by Nischay and Sophia of class VIB.

NavratriCelebration.

The Navratri celebration was organized in the school quadrangle on 22nd Oct 2023. This event being the first of its kind was a memorable and culturally enriching event. It successfully brought together students of all age groups and faculty members fostering a sense of unity in celebrating the rich traditions of India.The Garba festivities continued into the night, allowing all students to dance to their heart’s content and celebrate the spirit of Navratri.Students as well as faculty members dressed in traditional attire and danced to the rhythmic beats of folk music, creating an electric atmosphere filled with joy and energy.

Hawan Ceremony.

A Hawan ceremony was also organized on the next day to promote spiritual awareness and cultural values among the students and staff. This event aimed to create an atmosphere of peace, unity, and reverence within the school community.After the hawan, prasad was distributed to everyone, symbolizing the sharing of blessings and unity within the school community.

Dusshera.

Dussehra, a festival marking the victory of good over evil was celebrated in the school playfield. A small cultural evening and fair was organised by the Local Dagshai Committee where the effigy of the Ten headed Demon king Ravana was burnt and students witnessed the celebrations along with the teachers.

Diwali, the festival of lights.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is a significant and joyous occasion. In line with our school’s tradition of fostering a sense of unity and spreading happiness, Diwali was celebrated by distributing sweets and gifts to our valued staff members. The school organized a special Lakshmi Pooja celebration to mark this auspicious occasion and to seek blessings for prosperity and well-being.

National Automobile Olympiad.

The National Automobile Olympiad was held in the school on 28thOct 2023. 81 students participated in this Olympiad from classes VI to IX.

Silverzone Olympiads.

Olympiads for all subjects are held at Army Public School, Dagshai providing exposure to students to excel and face competition. Keeping in the view the same, Silverzone Foundation organised level- I Science and Computer Science Olympiad in the school.

(a) Level- I of Silverzone Science Olympaid was held in the school on 30thOct 2023 where 51 students with a keen interest and scientific temperament participated.

(b) Level- I of Silverzone Computer Science Olympiad was conducted in the school on 31stOct 2023 where 10 students participated.

National Achievement Survey.

National Achievement Survey Exam for Classes VI and IX and 4 teachers was conducted in the school by National testing Agency Parakh on 03rdNov 2023. Two representatives from NAS were present in the school for the same.
