To commemorate 9th International Yoga Day, the Army Public School students, teachers and administrative staff, Dagshai rose to the occasion in the school premises and participated in the special Yoga Session on 21 Jun 2023. Ms.Simarjit PTI teacher held a Yoga Session in the school ground. Special Assembly was also conducted wherein a speech was given by Yuvraj Anthal of Class XII Science about the scientific relevance and importance of Yoga in our life. A presentation was also presented by Mr.Sanjay Dulta Physical education teacher wherein he apprised the students about the origin of yoga, elements of yoga, and the significance of yoga in our life.
Hindi Story Telling competition was organized in the school auditorium by the Hindi Department on 23 June 2023 in which total 12 students, 4 from each house, participated. The event aimed to provide a platform for participants to showcase their storytelling skills in Hindi, promoting the rich cultural heritage of the language and encouraging creativity among the participants.
An enlightening session on Competency-based learning was organized for the teachers of the school on 24th June,23. The session was taken by Mr.Ravi Sharma, CBSE resource person. The concept of Competency-based learning was highlighted in the session. He further apprised the teachers that after the constructive approach, the focus has to shift on the development of core knowledge and 21st-century skills, leading to holistic development and preparing the child for lifelong learning.
A training session on ‘Technology-based Learning’ was organized in the school on 24 Jun 2023. The resource person was Mr.Vinod Kumar, IT Supervisor. The training focused on upskilling school staff in identifying and implementing appropriate technology-based methodology in teaching.
A movie ‘The Boss Baby’ was shown to all the students in the school auditorium on 24 Jun 2023.
A poster making and slogan writing activity was organized in APS Dagshai on the topic Drug abuse on 26 Jun 2023.The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on June 26 every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. Students participated in this activity with enthusiasm.The pictures are bellow.
All the teachers participated in an online program initiated by CBSE. It was a five hours program from 12 Jun to 16 Jun 2023 wherein the teachers became aware of personalized learning, adaptive learning, and immersive experiences by incorporating gamification, augmented reality etc. The program was quite knowledgeable and informative.
Reading plays an indispensable role in our life. It helps you to grow mentally emotionally and physically. Every book provides an opportunity to learn and explore new ideas. In order to inculcate habit of reading, Reading Award was presented on 30 Jun 2023 to the avid readers of the school, students who read more than ten books in a year.
On 4th July, the students of Class XI humanities were taken out till Wilson Rock in Dagshai, for the understanding of the topic- Weathering as a part of experiential learning. Weathering is a process of disintegration of rocks for which different factors are responsible like sunrays, water and vegetation. It is of further three types: Chemical, Physical and Biological. The students’ leant about the weathering and saw the cracks developed in the rocks by the natural forces. They also saw a small landslide on the way. It was an educational and fun filled outing where the students learnt the topic deeply by actually seeing those cracks and how it can further expand and led to breaking of the rocks.
An Inter-house Hashanbrar Debate Competition Was Organized In Honor Of Late.hashanbrar A Student Of Aps Dagshai In The School Premises On 7th July,23. Students From The Different House Of Classes Xi And Xii Participated In The Debate Competition On The Topic ‘qualification Is The Key To Success’. All The Points Spoken In Favor Or Against The Motion Reflected A Detailed Account Of The Topic. The Arguments Presented By All Participants Were Enthralling And Enticing. Suchismita From Patel House And Harsh Sharma Of Tagore House Were Declared As The Best Speakers, Vikas From Patel House Was The Best Interjector And Nehru House Clinched The Hashanbrar Debate Trophy.
To create awareness and spread the message of the year ‘Invest in our planet’ a Tree Plantation Drive was carried out actively by 40 NCC cadets and two teachers on 14th Jul 2023. Many saplings were planted in and around the school.
Various Inter house matches like LawnTennis Junior Boys, Football Junior Boys, Basketball senior boys, Basketball senior girls, Volleyball senior boys, Volleyball junior girls and Volleyball senior girls was organized in the school.
A Friendly match between Dharampur Basketball Club and Senior Boys of APS Dagshai was organized on 14 Jul 2023. In which Dharampur Club won by 72-66.
Online PTM was conducted on 24 Jun 2023 to discuss the result of Block test.
A talk on morality and motivation was organized in the school premises on 8th Jul 2023. The resource person was Dr Jasbir Singh Chawla B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering and Ph.D. in Managing Classical Elements in the Jataka Tales from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He motivated the students by emphasizing on not to believe blindly and try to verify and then follow or implement the things in life. He further apprised the students to use the facilities provided to them to the optimum level. He motivated the students to lead a balanced life. He emphasized to be respectful and obey elders/teachers/mentors as they speak with their wisdom and wide experiences of life which will help them in shaping their future thus leading a happy and prosperous life.
A motivational talk to the students of Classes – X, XI & XII was given by Lt Col Ghatge Ramesh, Education Officer 14 GTC on 18 Jul 2023 in the school auditorium. He motivated the students to be disciplined, punctual and focused in life. He made the children to realise that parents work diligently for their children in the same way children should work hard and come up to the expectations of their parents. He further apprised the students about the harsh conditions that the army personnel have to face in life. Students should follow all rules and regulations of the school and respect all staff members. He further motivated the students to be friendly towards their juniors and guide them for good conduct. Overall the lecture was quite motivating and inspiring for the students.
Mrs Ritambra Ghai, Principal, APS Dagshai attended physical workshop No. 1/2023-24 for Principals/VPs and AOs from 10 Jul to 14 Jul 2023 at FDRC New Delhi.
Meeting for demarcation of 14 Acres of Land for construction of school buildings of Army Public School, Dagshai were held at APS Dagshai on 26 Jun and 18 Jul 2023. Col Sanjai Verma from 14 GTC Subathu was the Presiding Officer for the same.
Auction of scrap was done on 30 Jun 2023.
