APS Dagshai proudly celebrated its 38th Founder’s Day on 08th June 2024. Brig Preet Pal Singh, AVSM, VSM, Commandant 14GTC and Chairman Army Public School was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The celebration commenced with the welcome of the guests, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Brig Preet Pal Singh, Guest of Honour Mrs Mona Singh accompanied by the Principal, which was followed by the cultural programme. The Principal, Mrs Ritambra Ghai presented the school report wherein she highlighted various achievements of the school.
The grand celebration themed Pragati Parv: India’s flight to infinity included an array of events celebrating India’s achievements in all fields along with the Unity and Diversity of the nation. The cultural programme was followed by Prize distribution. The chief guest also released a copy of the school Magazine, ‘The Dagshain’. Honouring and appreciating the achievers, the prizes were awarded to the students for their exceptional performance in the field of academics, sports, athletics and other co-curricular activities. The most memorable moments of the function were marked by the precious words of advice and appreciation by the chief guest Brig Preet Pal Singh.
The International Day of Biological Diversity observed on 22nd May is a United Nations-sanctioned day aimed at promoting awareness and understanding of biodiversity issues. The theme for 2024 is “From Agreement to Action: Building Back Biodiversity,” reflecting a global commitment to reversing biodiversity loss and fostering sustainable development.
To foster these values, the students of class V visited the school herbal garden where they were educated about the names of various medicinal plants and their benefits in everyday life.
Army Public school, Dagshai is a home away from home for its students. Each child is given the care and love that a family would provide. The APSD family got together to celebrate the birthdays for the month of May in a cake cutting ceremony on 25th May 2024. The entire school sang the birthday song for their birthday buddies. Delicious pastries were relished by the students post the birthday celebration.
Summer vacation was observed from 09 Jun to 23 Jun 2024 for teachers and students.
Under Vidyanjali Project Ms Ishita, PGT Psychology and PTI Simarjit Kaur went to a nearby government school on 03 Jun 2024 to play Emotional Charades with the students. Emotional charades is a kid’s game where children act out various emotions without speaking and others try to guess the emotion being portrayed. It helps them in recognising emotional gestures, spread emotional awareness , communication skills, social interaction, and builds empathy meanwhile it is fun to watch kids act different emotions.
