The English department conducted an Inter-House Storytelling Competition on 22ndJul 2024, aiming to enhance students’ literary skills and boost their confidence in public speaking.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26th July to mark the victory of the Indian Army over Pakistan in the Kargil war. It is a solemn celebration and inspiring event that aims at instilling a sense of patriotism and respect for the Indian Armed Forces among the students. The program featured a series of activities and performances like group songs, dance and play that highlighted the valour and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. The Principal, Mrs RitambraGhai, as the chief guest of the event addressed the students emphasizing on the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the importance of remembering the heroes who laid down their lives for the country. A brief history of CaptSumeet Roy, VrC, an alumnus of our school who laid down his life during the Kargil war was recited in the special assembly to inspire and inform the students about the sacrifices of the Brave heroes of the Kargil War.

In memory and reverence of our brave martyrs the bust of MajUdai Singh, SC, SM was garlanded by the Principal and the school appointments. Later in the day a quiz on Kargil war and Operation Vijay was organised in all classes. The Fine Arts department organised a poster making competition for the students.


Session on Sex Education, Gender Equality and Identity

On 30 Jul 2024, senior students engaged in an enlightening class led by the school counsellor, delving into crucial topics of sex education, gender equality and identity. This session aimed to foster a deeper understanding among students about the sensitive yet significant aspect of human development and societal harmony. Through open dialogue and expert guidance, the class empowered students to embrace diversity, respect differences, and navigate complexities surrounding gender and identity with empathy and knowledge. Such educational initiatives not only promote inclusivity but also equip young minds with the awareness and sensitivity needed to contribute positively to their communities and beyond.


Session on ‘Good touch bad touch’

A session was conducted by the school counsellor on 1st Aug 2024 teaching young minds about “good touch, bad touch”. The session held a significant place was it is crucial to teach children about their safety and well being. The students were educated about appropriate and inappropriate physical contact, empowering them to recognize and respond to potentially harmful situations.


Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima was celebrated in the school on 22nd Jul 2024. A special assembly was conducted where Araina Thakur gave a speech on Guru Purnima. The school choir also sang a melodious song acknowledging the contribution of the teachers to the society.


National Flag Day

The Fine Arts department organized a Flag Making Activity for classes V and VI on 22nd July as part of the National Flag Day celebrations. The activity aimed to engage students in a creative and educational exercise, fostering a sense of patriotism and pride in the national flag.


National Broadcast Day

The National Broadcast Day was celebrated in the school on 23rd Jul 2024. A special morning assembly was conducted by the students of class V. A group of young students performed a skit titled “The Evolution of Broadcasting,” which depicted the history of radio and television.


World Nature Conservation Day

World Nature Conservation day was celebrated on 28th Jul 2024. To mark the occasion, saplings were planted in the school under the guidelines of CBSE Shikha Saptah Plant 4 mother initiative. Speech on the topic was given in the morning assembly.


International Friendship Day

International Friendship Day was celebrated on 30th Jul 2024 with great enthusiasm and joy. The event was organized to promote the values of friendship, understanding, and harmony among students. The celebration began with a special morning assembly where students delivered a speech about the significance of friendship.
One of the most anticipated activities was the exchange of friendship bands. Students exchanged bands with their friends, symbolizing their bond and commitment to each other.


National Rangers Day

31 Jul 2024 was celebrated in the school to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of park rangers, who protect and preserve our national parks and natural resources.


National Rangers Day

Army Public school, Dagshai is a home away from home for its students. Each child is given the care and love that a family would provide. The APSD family got together to celebrate the birthdays for the month of May in a cake cutting ceremony on 27th July 2024. The entire school sang the birthday song for their birthday buddies. Delicious pastries were relished by the students post the birthday celebration.


Oxford University Press Webinar

The faculty members attended an online webinar on 26 Jul 2024 titled ‘Gratitude in Education- role of gratitude in the Educational context, effects on student teacher relationships, classroom dynamics and academic performance. The resource person for the webinar was Dr Tanu Shree Singh from Oxford University Press.

Shiksha Saptah

Under the guidelines of CBSE, Shiksha Saptah was celebrated in the school from 22nd to 28th Jul 2024. Various activities were organised each day to commemorate the event. The activities included:

  • Day 1. Preparation of TLM to illustrate innovative teaching practises and assessment methods.

  • Day 2. A workshop on Holistic Progress Cards was conducted by Mr Ravi Sharma, the CBSE resource person for the teachers. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of holistic progress cards, focusing on the integration of academic, co-curricular, and personal development assessments.

  • Day 3. Students were apprised about the rules and regulations of the
    indigenous games such as Stepoo, Gilli-Danda, chess, yoga and other popular games like Volleyball, Football and Basketball. Various Inter house and Inter class matches conducted for the same.

  • Day 4. Various cultural and art activities were conducted in the school. The music department conducted patriotic and folk group songs whereas the dance department presented the dances of various states on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. Furthermore, the students of classes IX and XI were taken to the Dagshai Museum to have an insightfulexperience about our history.

  • Day 5.The Computer, Commerce, Science, English and Fine Arts department organised activities to inculcate ecological awareness, exploration, creativity, public speaking and skills like hands on learning through Experiential learning.

  • Day 6. Tree plantation with the theme Plant4mother was carried out
    where a child and his/ her mother planted a sapling. The students were also informed about the importance of trees and their contribution to maintaining a healthy environment.
    The students of the culinary club were sensitized about healthy life style and the value of nutrition. The students also indulged in preparing Idli, Coconut Chutney and Russian salad. Students were apprised about nutritious food and its health benefits.

  • Day 7. To provide the students with an opportunity to engage with
    children at the orphanage, understand their lives, and contribute positively through various activities and donations, the staff and students of class X and XII visited the Seva Bharti orphanage near Charring Cross, Dagshai. They distributed sweets, celebrated their birthday and also engaged them in various recreational activities such as cricket, football, and volleyball, which brought immense joy to the children.


Based on the theme ‘National Space Day:Landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the Moon, Commemorating India’s Success in Space’ articles were submitted on the given link. The topic of the article in English was ‘Impact of Technology on education’ and article in Hindi was ‘Travelogue. It was uploaded on the given link on 27thJul 2024.


Parent Teacher Meet

Parent teacher meet was held on 27 Jul 2024. The academic result of PWT-1 was discussed with the parents in both offline and online mode.
