In an effort to promote environmental awareness and contribute to a greener planet, the school organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 08th Aug 2024 with the theme ‘One Cadet One Tree’ in which the NCC cadets, eco club and biology students planted saplings. The event was held on the school premises and saw enthusiastic participation from students and teachers.
The English department conducted an Inter-House Storytelling Competition on 22ndJul 2024, aiming to enhance students’ literary skills and boost their confidence in public speaking.

Inter House Rakhi Making Competition was held in the school on 17 Aug 2024 where students showcased their creativity and innovation. Each house participated with enthusiasm, where students designed Rakhis that not only reflected the traditional values of the festival but also brought in unique and modern elements.
Some Rakhis were made from eco-friendly materials, while others featured intricate designs using beads, threads, and colourful stones. The competition was a vibrant display of talent, with students putting their artistic skills to the test.

The school celebrated the National Colouring Activity on 2nd Aug 2024 with great enthusiasm and creativity. The event aimed to foster creativity, encourage artistic expression, and provide a platform for students to showcase their talent in colouring. The students of class V and VI participated in the event with enthusiasm. Each group was given specific themes such as “Nature,” “Festivals,” “Wildlife”. Colouring material was provided and students were given one hour to complete their artwork.
The school observed Cloves Syndrome Day on 3rd Aug 2024 to raise awareness about this rare condition and to foster a sense of empathy and understanding among students. Nehru House conducted a special assembly in which Shivendra and Vishal of class X A spoke on the topic to spread awareness about this rare disease.
On August 6, 2024, the school observed Hiroshima Day with a special assembly aimed at remembering the tragic events of August 6, 1945, and promoting a message of peace and anti-nuclear sentiment among students.
A speech was delivered by Divesh and Ronit followed by a quiz conducted by Prince so that the students can learn from history to build a peaceful future.
The National Handloom Day Theme 2024 aims to highlight the integration of technology and innovation in handloom weaving. Keeping in view the importance of handloom, the students celebrated the day on 07th Aug 2024 by learning to make mat with weaving, painting with thread on board and tie and dye with acrylic colour.
The school commemorated the Quit India Movement on August 8, 2024, with great enthusiasm and patriotism. This event aimed to instill a sense of national pride and historical awareness among the students. In the special assembly organized by the students class IX B the students delivered a speech on the significance of the Quit India Movement and its impact on India’s Independence.
To create awareness among students about the significance of bio-fuels and their role in sustainable development, the school celebrated National Bio fuel Day on 10th Aug 2024with great enthusiasm.
A special morning assembly was organised by Patel House where the students introduced and explained the different types of bio-fuels, their sources, and how they can help reduce carbon emissions.
The students enjoyed the thrilling experience of Chandrayaan’s landing and space exploration through Virtual Reality on 09th Aug 2024.
Friendly matches were held with the school teams of St Luke’s Senior secondary School, Solan at the APS Dagshai school ground on 3rd Aug 2024. Teams participated in Football and basketball matches. Our school won in basketball both boys and girls category. The football match ended up in a draw.
Haryali teej was celebrated in the school on 07th Aug 2024. The students applied hina on the hands of teachers to mark the occasion.
The celebration at APS Dagshai began on
the morning of 15th Aug 2024 with a solemn flag hoisting by our Chief Guest, Col. Hemant Deolal, and our Principal, Mrs. Ritambra Ghai. The school choir presented a melodious recitation of Vande matram. The event also featured a compelling mime honouring our freedom fighters and a vibrant dance themed around Mahabharat. A grand prize distribution for the prize winners of Inter school competitions was also organised where the Chief Guest felicitated the students and congratulated them on their achievements. The celebration concluded with an inspiring speech from Col. Hemant Deolal, motivating everyone to cherish and uphold the values of freedom.
Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in the school on
19th Aug 2024. The day marks the loving bond between the brother and sister. The school cafeteria was chirping with energy as the siblings and cousins came together to celebrate the festival exchanging rakhis and gifts with each other.
